ETT

Entry-level Emergency Trauma Technician training for high school students, Community Health Aide Practitioners, and rural community members without a dedicated EMS system nearby.

Heartsaver® CPR,  AED,  & First Aid

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION® CERTIFIED COURSES

These courses provide essential CPR, AED, and First Aid training designed for individuals outside the healthcare field. Whether for the workplace, caregiving, or everyday preparedness, Heartsaver® courses equip you with the skills and confidence to respond in an emergency. 

Heartsaver®
CPR and AED

Learn CPR and AED skills to respond confidently to cardiac emergencies. Ideal for workplaces and individuals needing CPR certification only.

3 ways to get your Heartsaver® certification

Option 1:
IREMSC Blended Course

Complete the AHA online course yourself, then attend an in-person skills check at our office.

  • Purchase and complete the course at elearning.heart.org
  • Register for a hands-on Skills Check via our course calendar above. 
  • Skills checks held every other week, 8:30am–noon, typically Tuesdays
  • Skills check fee: $110.00 (includes pocket mask and completion card)
  • Minimum of 4 students required per session

Option 2:
Private Onsite Course

IREMSC comes to your worksite or a location of your choice.

  • Available as Heartsaver Total (8 hours) or Heartsaver Basic (4 hours)
  • A second instructor is required for groups larger than 9 students
  • Locations more than 50 miles from our facility incur a travel fee
  • Must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance
  • Request a quote through our Private Class Request Form

Option 3:
Independent Instructor

Connect directly with a certified instructor from our instructor list.

  • Instructors are independent contractors - pricing varies
  • Available for individuals or groups

Heartcode® Basic Life Support

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION® CERTIFIED COURSES

This course provides Basic Life Support (BLS) training designed for pre-hospital providers, nurses, doctors, dentists, medical/nursing students, and other healthcare practitioners. Covers CPR and emergency response skills required to maintain licensing and certification.

HeartCode® BLS

HeartCode® BLS covers adult, child, and infant CPR, Bag-Valve Mask (BVM) use, and rescue techniques for choking patients - giving healthcare providers the hands-on skills needed to respond confidently in a clinical setting.

  • Format: Available online followed by an in-person skills check
  • Online course fee: $37.00
  • Certification: AHA HeartCode BLS completion card
  • Does not include First Aid training

How to get your Heartcode® BLS Certification

Option 1:
IREMSC Blended Course

Complete the HeartCode BLS online course at elearning.heart.org, then attend an in-person skills check at our office.

  • Online course fee: $37.00

How to get your ACLS / PALS Certification

Option 1:
IREMSC Blended Course

Complete the HeartCode ACLS or PALS online course, then attend an in-person Skills Check.

  • Skills Checks offered twice per year, in alternating quarters
  • Skills Check is approximately 6 hours, completed in one day
  • Certificate of completion from the online course is required to register

Option 2:
Independent Instructor

Connect directly with a certified AHA instructor to schedule a class at a time convenient for you.

Understanding Opiod AddicTions

A six-hour course that helps first responders better understand opioid addiction and the people they encounter on the job. Built for police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other frontline crisis workers so that they may respond with  confidence, empathy, and safety.
