The State Office of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) engages in a myriad of activities to ensure that qualified and properly equipped emergency medical services personnel are available to respond to the emergency medical needs of Alaska's citizens. It is part of the Department of Health and Social Services Section of Rural and Community Health Systems.
